About This Lodge

Rhino Tourist Camp is a simple and affordable safari camp situated on the edge of the Masai Mara ecosystem. Its purpose is to offer an authentic wilderness experience at a budget-friendly rate.

The camp focuses on providing essential comforts such as clean rooms, reliable hot water, and satisfying meals, allowing the surrounding wildlife to be the main attraction. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, designed for travellers who prioritize value and spending time in the bush.

Location & Setting

The camp is situated just one kilometre from the Oloolaimutia Gate, providing quick access to the eastern section of the Masai Mara National Reserve. This position places guests close to game viewing areas.

Set away from the dense tourist hubs, the camp is surrounded by a natural environment that frequently sees wildlife passing through. It offers a sense of being close to the action without being inside the main reserve.

Accommodation

Rhino Tourist Camp provides accommodation in both comfortable, permanent tents and standard rooms. The structures are built with rustic, locally sourced materials.

Each unit is basic but functional, featuring simple beds, mosquito nets, and a private en-suite bathroom. Hot water is available, ensuring a refreshing shower after a day of game viewing. The design is intended to be a secure base that blends into the bush.

Facilities & Experiences

The central area houses the Serene Restaurant, which serves buffet-style African and international cuisine. Guests can enjoy time at the bar or relax in the communal outdoor seating areas.

Unique to the camp is a massage parlour, offering a dedicated space for guests to relax and recover after long road transfers or full days of game drives. The camp also features an outdoor fire pit for social evenings under the stars.
