About This Lodge

Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge offers a modern take on the traditional safari experience, positioned on a ridge in the central Serengeti. The camp is designed to provide panoramic views of the plains, blending contemporary architecture with the surrounding wilderness. The atmosphere is open and steady, focusing on the vastness of the landscape and the movement of resident wildlife.

It serves as a comfortable, mid-range base for those exploring the Seronera Valley, known for its year-round predator activity and large herds. The stay experience is grounded and spacious, offering a quiet retreat from the busy game-viewing circuits while maintaining close proximity to the park’s most active zones.

Location & Setting

The lodge is situated on a slope in the Central Serengeti, approximately 25 kilometers from the Seronera airstrip. This geography provides elevated views across the savanna toward the distant horizon, capturing the shifting light of the plains. Access is primarily via scheduled flights to Seronera or by road from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Its central position makes it a strategic anchor for northern and southern circuits, allowing for easy transitions between different park regions. The immediate area is characterized by granite outcrops and acacia woodlands, which host a high density of resident big cats.

Accommodation

The lodge features 25 spacious tents built on raised wooden platforms, each with private balconies that look out over the Serengeti. The design uses canvas and stone with clean lines and light-colored furnishings to create a bright, airy feel. Inside, the tents offer modern comforts including en suite bathrooms with twin sinks and hot showers.

A key sensory feature is the outdoor shower, allowing guests to stay connected to the environment while maintaining privacy. The layout ensures each unit remains secluded, with large windows that invite the morning light and the sounds of the African night into the living space.

Facilities & Experiences

Shared spaces at the lodge center around an infinity pool that appears to merge with the plains below. The main lounge and dining area are housed under a large thatch roof, providing a cool and shaded environment during the heat of the day. Guests gather for meals on an open-air deck, where the service is attentive yet unobtrusive, fostering a relaxed communal atmosphere.

Evenings often begin around the fire pit, a quiet space for reflection after a day on the plains. The lodge provides Wi-Fi in common areas and 24-hour electricity, ensuring a practical balance between wilderness immersion and modern reliability.
