About This Lodge

Manyatta Camp provides a semi-luxury safari experience that blends traditional Maasai architectural design with essential comfort. It is positioned as a welcoming, value-focused base for exploring the Mara ecosystem.

The camp’s unique identity lies in its use of the traditional Manyatta style, providing guests with a grounded and authentic experience without compromising security or service. The atmosphere is open and social, ideal for a memorable, unhurried time in the bush.

Location & Setting

The camp is set on the eastern edge of the greater Masai Mara ecosystem, situated near the Ololaimutiek Gate of the National Reserve. This position offers quick access to the eastern plains, a key area for game drives.

The setting is characterised by views of the Megurarra Hills, providing a sense of geographical scale. The location is easily accessible, serving as a convenient entry point for travelers arriving by road.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided in spacious tented units, which stand on hard surfaces and are covered with a traditional Makuti (thatched grass) roof. The design utilizes natural, local materials, providing insulation against heat while seamlessly blending the structures into the surrounding landscape.

Each tent includes an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and a private veranda, ensuring a secure and private retreat after a day of exploration.

Facilities & Experiences

The central area features a restaurant and bar, acting as the main gathering point for guests. Meals include a mix of international and Kenyan cuisine. The camp provides a quiet spot to relax around the evening campfire.

Unusually for a safari camp, a conference facility is available, allowing the property to host groups, meetings, and corporate events alongside leisure travelers.
